How does the shipping process
work?
Fill
out the
Quote Form.
Once you receive our quote, go online and complete the
Order Form.
When all the paperwork is completed and your deposit
received, your vehicle(s) will be scheduled for pick-up
according to the dates provided on the order form. We will
contact you to confirm the pick-up date and time. Our driver
will call you 12-24 hours prior to the scheduled pick-up.
When the driver arrives he will do a detailed inspection,
(see Pre and Post Trip Report below). The driver will call
again 12-24 hours in advance to set-up the delivery of the
vehicle(s).
What forms of payments do you accept?
We
accept cash, cashiers check or money order.
How much advanced notice should I allow for booking?
You
should allow at least 2 to 3 weeks prior to the requested
shipping date. In some cases we understand there is an
emergency. We can try to accommodate a rush order and there
will be a charge for same. You must contact us on our cell
phone (found on the
Contact Us
page) for any rush order.
How long will it take to deliver my vehicle(s)?
It
depends on the distance. It can be as little as 1 day or
up-to 14 days for long distance runs. Delays can occur such
as inclement weather, traffic, and road construction, etc.
Is my car insured?
Yes, all
our trucks carry $750 thousand in liability insurance. Any
damage occurring during the transit of your auto is covered
in full. There is no need for you to carry additional
insurance.
How do I prepare my auto for shipping?
We will
fax or email you a prep list.
Do I need to be present for Pick-up and Delivery?
No, but
you must have a person available to sign the Bill of Lading
at the Pick-up and drop off sites. Arrangements must be
made in advance to supply us with the name of the individual
responsible for signing the Bill of Lading if it someone
other than yourself.
What is a Pre and Post trip inspection Report?
A Pre and
Post trip report is a detailed vehicle inspection. It states
damage such as dents, scratches, cracked windows, etc.,
prior to loading. When the post trip inspection is done,
both the driver and the person responsible for releasing the
vehicle will sign, and a copy given to that person. Upon
arriving at the destination point, the driver will again do
a detailed inspection on the same Bill of Lading, and both
parties will sign before the vehicle is released. Damage
rarely occurs, but if it does, the damage will be noted on
the Bill of Lading which the driver will sign. Any damage
not noted on the Bill of Lading, cannot be processed by our
insurance.
Can I put items in the vehicle?
No items
of any kind can be transported in the vehicle. Our insurance
doesn’t cover personal items, just the vehicle. Also, our
trucks are subject to frequent inspections at weigh stations
and state lines, and are subject up to a $10,000 fine if
items are found within the vehicle(s). It is against the law
to transport items or household goods in the vehicle.
What does Door to Door Service mean?
In
most cases the truck will pick-up and drop-off your
vehicle(s) to a site of your choice as stated in the
Quote
or
Order
form. Many Towns and Cities have weight restrictions on
local roads. If that is the case with your street, the
driver will arrange to have your vehicle(s) picked-up or
dropped-off at a shopping center lot or similar location
close to your requested address. Check with your Town ahead
of time. We may be able to arrange for a smaller truck. Our
trucks range from 50 feet to 80 feet in length. Other
factors that may prevent Door to Door service are low
bridges, narrow roads, low hanging wires or trees. If the
driver deems it unsafe to load or unload at your desired
location, he will direct you to meet at a mutually agreed
upon site. Every effort will be made to expedite the Door to
Door service.
